Net zero
Our journey to net zero
Transport is the largest emitting sector of greenhouse gas emissions, producing 26% of the UK’s total emissions in 2021.
We are on a mission to reduce not only our own carbon footprint but also that of the people who use our services.
Here is what we have achieved so far:
- Promoting greener travels by optimising our booking and operation processes in partnership with Padam Mobility
- Collaboration with Clipper Automotive on a project to convert our diesel buses to electric.
- Eight electric vehicles. This has been made possible by Surrey County Council and funding from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), Rural England Prosperity Fund, the UK government, Farnham Town Council, Farnham Lions, Suez, and more. Thank you all for your support.
- Winner in the Sustainability Impact and Smarter Transport categories of the CREST23 Business Awards.
- Developed charging infrastructure at base in Wormley.
- Delivery of our second electric vehicle.
- ‘Reducing our carbon footprint’ is stated as a priority in our 2023-28 business strategy.
- Our first electric vehicle joined the fleet in 2022.
- Finalist in the Smarter Transport category of the CREST22 Business Awards.
- Introduction of technology to improve route planning and reduce mileage.
Award-winning
In October 2023, we were honoured to receive a sustainability impact award at CREST23, Surrey’s only green business awards.
The Sustainability Impact award for businesses with a turnover of over £1-million, was awarded in recognition of how we consistently improve people’s lives through our day-to-day business practices, and our commitment to reducing our carbon emissions.
