hoppa receives £2,000 grant
Chiddingfold Parish Council has renewed its support for Waverley hoppa Community Transport with a grant for £2,000.
hoppa can be used by anybody who does not have access to any other means of transport. The hoppa Shoppa service is popular with Chiddingfold residents who want a lift to the supermarket so they can do their weekly shop or who need to run errands in Godalming.
Richard Davies, General Manager at hoppa says: “The beauty of hoppa is that we offer a door-to-door service, so we pick up and drop off customers at their home which saves people having to walk to and from the bus stop in the village centre. Our buses are wheelchair accessible and there is plenty of room on board for walking frames and shopping bags. We operate Monday to Friday which gives customers the flexibility to meet a friend on one day and to do their shopping on another day. Given a reasonable amount of notice, we can usually accommodate people’s first choice of travel.
”We are thankful to Chiddingfold Parish Council for their grant as this enables us to subsidise the service so it is more accessible to those who need it most.”
hoppa is very easy to use. Customers simply need to register their details online at www.hoppa.org.uk/register or call 01428 681701.
