Free travel on Godalming hoppa Shoppa

What’s happening

From 1 October to 31 March we are offering free travel on the Godalming hoppa Shoppa between the hours of 9.30am and 2pm. This will save you £6 on a return journey (Shoppa normal fare outside of Government scheme).

Who can travel on hoppa Shoppa

Anybody who lives in the Godalming area. The free travel is for anybody of any age who does not have access to any other transport.

How does it work

Firstly, you will need to register to start using the service.

Once registered, call us to book your seat. The more notice you give us, the more likely it is that we will be able to offer you your preferred day and time of travel.

On the day you have booked to travel, we will pick you up from your home at the agreed time. We will take you to your destination within the Godalming area. If you have booked a return journey, we will pick you up at an agreed time and location and take you home.

Where can I go on the hoppa Shoppa?

You can travel anywhere within the Godalming zone. The map on this page shows you which villages are within the zone.

Places we can take you include:

  • Health centres and clinics
  • Dental surgeries
  • Church halls
  • Day centres
  • Supermarkets
  • Village centres
  • Visitor attractions
  • Garden centres

Can you accommodate wheelchairs and pushchairs?

Yes. Our buses are fully wheelchair accessible.

How is the free travel being funded?

The free travel offer is being run as a six-month pilot. It has been funded by Voluntary Action South West Surrey’s Sparks fund.
