Help secure the future of Godalming and Haslemere Hospital hoppa

For many people in Godalming, Haslemere, and surrounding villages who do not have ready access to transport, the Hospital hoppa service is a lifeline. 

Every month, we take around 100 people to and from their medical appointments so they can receive essential treatment, access specialist care, and maintain their health, independence and quality of life. 

Without the service, these vulnerable local people face missed appointments and are likely to be denied access to timely care unless they can afford a more expensive alternative such as a taxi.

Keeping people connected

  • There are just five wheelchair accessible taxis and private hire vehicles available in Waverley compared to 24 out of 30 hoppa buses. 
  • 40% of people in Waverley are registered as disabled or have some form of mobility issue. 
  • 1 in 5 of all hospital trips was made by a wheelchair user. 
  • 42% of residents live in areas with limited or no public transport.
