Meet Jordan, who is one of our passenger assistants. He’s the friendly and familiar face that helps make sure passengers get safely to school.

How did you first experience hoppa
My first experience with hoppa was when my brother and I used to go on the hoppa bus to school.

When did you start working at hoppa
I joined hoppa in November, starting with three days a week as I had another part time job at the time.

What were you doing before joining hoppa
Before hoppa, I worked part-time at a supermarket. I did a bit of everything – working on the tills, collecting trolleys, emptying bins, and keeping things running behind the scenes.

What inspired you to become a passenger assistant?
I wanted to become a passenger assistant because, having disabilities myself, I feel I can relate to and better support the kids on the bus. I understand their needs and want to make sure their journeys are as comfortable as possible.

How do you get to work?
One of the hoppa drivers passes my girlfriend’s house on his way to and from work so I usually get picked up and dropped off by him, which is really convenient. If I need to go to hoppa HQ outside of hours, I drive my own car.

What does a typical day off look like for you?
Honestly? Sleeping in, playing video games with my girlfriend, and enjoying some pizza – can’t beat that!

What do you enjoy most about your role?
The best part is providing a safe environment for the kids on my route and making their journey to school the best it can be. I also love inspiring them to be the best they can be.

What are your hobbies outside of work?
I’m big into playing video games, producing music, working out, and DJ-ing.

Any hidden talents?
Producing music. Oh, and I can pop my thumb out of place and put it back in because I’m double-jointed – not sure if that’s a talent, but it’s definitely unique!

Would you recommend hoppa to your friends and family?
Absolutely – 100%! In the short time I’ve been here, I’ve been treated better than during my eight and a half years at my previous job. It’s a great place to work.
