High demand for Farnham’s Hospital hoppa service has helped secure a welcome donation from Farnham Rotary Club.

Up until Hospital hoppa’s launch nine months ago, the only public transport options available to people with appointments at Frimley Park Hospital were a lengthy bus journey with changes or a more expensive taxi ride. 

To explain how Farnham Rotary Club’s donation is making a difference to the health and wellbeing of Farnham people, hoppa’s General Manager, Richard Davies recently gave a presentation at one of the club’s weekly meetings. He said: “Getting to medical appointments is the second most popular reason people turn to hoppa. Since July 2025, nearly 800 people have used our wheelchair accessible, door to door service to travel to essential medical appointments at Frimley Park Hospital, the Royal Surrey, Aldershot Centre for Health and other local medical centres. 

“It is thanks to collaborations with organisations such as Farnham Rotary Club that we can provide a service that is valued by customers, and which plugs a gap in the transport system.”

Ken Kent, Chair of the Community Service Committee says: “Members of our club were enthusiastic to support the Farnham Hospital hoppa service. It’s very reassuring to know this service is available for the occasions when you need a lift to a medical appointment. To be picked up from your front door and taken to the entrance of the hospital is very convenient and takes away the difficulty of parking. I urge anybody who is under the care of a hospital to register for Hospital hoppa because you never know when you may need to call upon it.”
