Community funding secures Cranleigh Hospital hoppa service for another year

Representatives from several local organisations have reaffirmed their support for the Cranleigh Hospital hoppa service, ensuring it will continue operating for another year and providing a vital transport lifeline for residents.

The service, which is used by around 100 Cranleigh villagers each month, plays an essential role in helping people attend important medical appointments. Without this reliable transport option, many residents, particularly older adults and those with limited mobility, would face significant challenges accessing the healthcare they need.

The continued funding highlights the strength of community collaboration, with contributions from Waverley Borough Council, Cranleigh Lions, Cranleigh Hospital League of Friends, and the Luigi Francescon Trust making the service possible.

Richard Davies, General Manager at hoppa says: “The ongoing backing demonstrates a shared commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of local residents, helping them remain independent while reducing the stress often associated with travelling to appointments.”

Cranleigh Hospital hoppa is available to local residents who need assistance travelling to medical appointments. Journeys can be booked in advance, and the service is designed to be accessible, friendly, and dependable for those who may struggle with public transport or driving. Residents interested in using hoppa are encouraged to register at www.hoppa.org.uk.
